Thankfulness

Lori Miller, President, Tooty Inc.

When I reflect on each person that makes up our team here at Tooty, I am thankful on a deep level.  I know how 2020 has affected them, what they have had to overcome, and the super-human effort required to produce an excellent product every day.

Every organization has a similar testimony of their team’s resilience,  persistence and unity.  I reached out to some of our Tooty customers who were more than willing to share why they are so thankful for their teams. Be encouraged.

Pamela, New Mexico

I am thankful how the team has come together and even though we are physically distanced we are closer than ever.  It’s so important during these times to maintain connections with each other on a personal level.  We had a 6ft social distanced baby shower for one of the ladies that has been working from home.  We left gifts and decorated her porch and then called her to come outside.  They’ve managed to adapt to their new working conditions and continue to provide A+ customer service.

During the past year, even with new job duties, this team has pulled together and delivered great customer service to our customers and have made the Top Ten Tooty list for the past 3 months!  So, if you ask me what I am thankful for this year, I will tell you I am thankful to work for a company that puts its employees first.  And I am thankful for employees that work together for the good of the company  and are not only willing to tackle new tasks to get the job done but are doing those tasks at the highest level!

Well I would have to say I am thankful for our whole team.   They have pushed through with a positive attitude every day.   Even though everyone has their own struggles, whether it is trying to be a part time teacher at home or taking care of their elderly families, they managed to get their work completed.  Calls answered with a smiling face and trash off the street.  Also, today we have teamed up to feed 4 of our schools in need over the holidays.  Many children would have gone without over the holidays and our gang is generously going to give back to our community.  Supporting each other and our community is what it is all about.

I am a huge believer in recognizing and celebrating small wins. Seems to me that those occur almost daily and when realized help to contribute to more wins and ultimately Big Wins. We literally took “baby steps” with the Tooty Program and the CSRs by talking about almost every call and letting them dissect them and figure out what they did right and what they did wrong. We worked hard to keep everything positive. Before we knew it, the CSRs were encouraging each other and even coaching each other by talking about what they did right and wrong. It didn’t hurt that due to the way Arkansas is set up with 3 sites, we could create a fun very light hearted competition between sites that kept the Tooty Conversation active and positive – this was also the perfect opportunity for the whole group to celebrate all those small wins creating the environment that encouraged confidence and a team atmosphere.

I know we have some strides to make in terms of our Tooty score however we have a great group here.  I am thankful for being able to work with a group of people that I consider family. Team Ga consist of some feisty (LOL) and passionate CSRS. They all go the extra mile and truly enjoy assisting our customers. I am thankful for their  great attitudes, flexibility and AWESOMENESS!

I love that you are making a concerted effort to focus on thankfulness!  This has been such a heavy year and it’s so important to remember that gratitude matters, even in tumultuous times.  The challenges and uncertainty of a new database, new phone system, navigating working from home while balancing their families, staffing shortages, the fear of a global pandemic, and natural disasters have made this year daunting to say the least.  Throughout all of this, the one word that comes to mind for the Vancouver Customer Service Team is resilient.  I am thankful and truly humbled by the resiliency and depth of spirit this team has demonstrated.  There were times that we felt exhausted and discouraged but at the end of the day, taking care of our valuable customers was always paramount.  Time and time again when the volume was overwhelming and it was hard to see light at the end of the tunnel, this crew came together to take care of business!  They volunteered to work overtime before work, after work, and even on their valuable weekends to help take care of the Clark County customers who needed them and depended on them for help.  So today, on behalf of the Vancouver leadership team, I give thanks to our Customer Service Crew for their resiliency, spirit, teamwork, and sense of humor in the face of tremendous adversity.  We are grateful to work with this unique and exceptional group of individuals that we are fortunate to call our work family.

The words that come to mind when I think of our team in Des Moines are Teamwork and Tenacity.  Each one of team members have been put in circumstances that caused them to uproot their work environment and I’m sure add to a little chaos within their home life.

We started out with what we thought would be a few weeks working from home, only to come back to the office for 4 months, and now they have returned back home working remotely again.  These transitions are not easy and each one of them has continued to work together as a team and I couldn’t be prouder of the efforts they put in while trying to do their jobs remotely.  This team is tight with one another and they always find a way to  communicate and cover for one another when needed.  I will be happy when things can return to the new “normal” and our office can be filled with the laughter that exudes from our team on a daily basis.

Lynn, North Carolina

There are a couple of things I can say about my team that make them work so well together and truly makes it easy for me. If one is struggling with an issue, they will work together to get it resolved. Laughter – it’s contagious – even when it’s a bad day it’s not a bad day for them. They make it through some tough days and bring each other up. It’s so amazing to see. I’m thankful for these ladies, they make me so proud every day. I couldn’t ask for a better team. We may work together, but we are a family.
